Bunny Hop Brook; 4/1/12, 1st PLACE PRO!
Root 66 Bunny Hop Brook, 4/1/12
First race of the season went a lot better than I thought it would! I placed 1st out of 7 in the Pro category and 1st overall out of the 18 Pro-Cat 1 women combined. There was more climbing than I thought, my hamstrings were a bit sore still warming up. I was able to get the hole shot and never looked back. I charged through the first technical, flat, and climbing section and I could hear nobody. By the end of the first lap I was 2 1/2 min. up on 2nd place. I felt great up until about 1/2-3/4 of the way through the 3rd lap. My hamstrings all of a sudden started to get really tight and my quads were burning. My body was telling me to slow down, but I kept charging forward the best I could. I lost one min. 15 sec to the 2nd place rider, but still finished ahead and in the end that is what counts. I had no mechanicals and a very successful race. I could not be more psyched and proud to start off so strong, because I know with the proper training and time on the bike, I will only get stronger!
